Please Introduce Yourself

I've been blogging for nearly three years now.

I'm still tickled when someone stops by and comments and gives me some bit of insight or encouragement.

But I'm a bit sad when people comment as Anonymous.

Sometimes I want to email you to say thanks. Or to ask another question.

And other times I wonder exactly who some of you are and how you found me. Did you just stop by because a Google search brought you here? A headline from a diabetes blog update? Are you planning a pregnancy with diabetes and want to read how one person did it? You just like the writing?

Who are you? What made you click here? Anything else you'd like me to write about, within the general confines of pregnancy, type 1 diabetes, parenthood and the assorted labels I've started to tag my posts with?

Looking forward to your responses.

I don't remember how I found your blog honestly! I have been reading and have gone back into the archives as well. I have type 1 and am hoping to get pregnant next year. I really appreciate the content of your blog, but also your style of writing. Thanks much!

I think I was directed to your blog from tudiabetes. I discovered it about a year ago when I started the "pregnancy prep" phase of my life with type 1. Finding your blog was a miracle. I am hoping to start trying soon and I am so happy to see you are posting again! Thanks for all your insight. Its helped... a lot!

Thanks,

Kathy

Hi! I've posted before but thought I would again and reintroduce myself. I found your site over a year ago (I can't remember whose link I followed, maybe someone on the O.C.?) when you were at the end of your pregnancy with Baby L. At the time, I was in the early stages of pregnancy and felt such a comfort and relief to read your words.

I love your stories. Thank you for sharing!

Hi -apologies, it was me who posted anonymous last post. I have got a name on here and have only posted once before introducing myself - but I had my 3 year old on my lap asking me a million questions, my husband looking over my shoulder, and I couldn't for the life of me remember my password! SO it was easier to click anonymous.

Yeah - so 38, one child, trying to conceive two years for a second child - no luck. Starting IVF now and I've had T1D for 19 years come December... I googled IVF and Type 1 diabetes one evening when I was needing support - and found your blog. I drop in every now and again to see what you are up to - and gain that peace of mind "hey I'm not the only one!". Other things about me: I live in Australia and I'm looking forward to us both going on this IVF / diabetes journey together.

I linked to you from sixuntilme. I started reading through old posts and was inspired when reading about your triathlons. I've been type 1 for 19 years and had a baby in April so I was also interested in reading about your pregnancy experience. Would love to read about how you deal with your diabetes and raising a child - any issues that come up, etc.

I heard about you through the Positive Diabetes Pregnancy group. I am really looking forward to reading your upcoming book! Meanwhile, I'll be enjoying reading your blog, as I'm preparing for a type 1 pregnancy myself (my first)!
Appreciatively,
Elizabeth

Hi, L ~ I found your blog when I was looking for a book about T1 and pregnancy and yours came up. When I found the blog, I WAS STOKED! I've been T1 for 22 years and decided last year that it's no longer taboo for me to have a child. Google found you for me and I've laughed and cried through your archives. Still not caught up yet - but hope all works for you! Keep it up!

I found you on TuDiabetes- reading through the pregnancy pages- and then found your awesome book on amazon- which directed me here (from the about the author blurb).

I'm also a Type 1er, since age 4, am expecting my 2nd baby on Nov 12, have a son who is 5 with T1D, and write. (I have a YA novel that's almost ready for submission- already agented)

I've enjoyed what I've read on your blog so far & appreciate the connection to my own life.

Hi,

I am 29 and have had diabetes type 1 since I was 11. My A1cs range from 5 or 6 to 8, my last one was 6.7. I found you and your blog because I bought your book. Your book is amazing thank you so much! I am starting to research about diabetes and pregnancy although I don´t think I want to get pregnant for another two years. I am not even done with the first chapter and already have like ten questions I need to ask my doctor on my next appointment, which is in about two more months jajaja but just reading your book makes want to bring my A1c to 5.5 I am going to try and do that!

Thanks!
Andrea
