Took the Test at the Doc's Office...

...and it was positive.

POSITIVE!

My HCG level, which I think is the same as the beta tests I read about on other blogs, was 173 nine days after the five day transfer. Anything over 100 is considered a good number.

Shhhh!

It's still really early. I still feel pretty normal. My blood sugars have been a little wacky these past few days.

But we actually have an appointment for an ultrasound in two weeks to see (oh pleasepleaseplease, let it all be normal) if we can see a heartbeat onscreen.

I have NOT NOT NOT told anyone in person about this except Mr. Lyrehca and my assorted doctors' offices. IF I SOMEHOW KNOW YOU IN PERSON, OR YOU KNOW PEOPLE I KNOW IN PERSON, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep it to yourself. We just don't want to tell people too early and then be devastated if something goes wrong.

I took the blood test yesterday morning, then went to work and sat in a meeting all morning. Then the call came in to my cell phone around 1:10. From experience, I've let the voice mail pick up so I can process the answer on my own.

When I saw who was calling, my heart started pounding and I quickly tested at 117. Then I listed to the message.

"Hi, we have some good news, your HCG level was 173, which is a good, strong number. Please call us back so we can schedule an ultrasound appointment."

I couldn't believe it. I started crying right at my desk. Then I walked out of my low-privacy office and called Mr. Lyrehca from outside the building.

"Are you in a meeting?"

"No."

"Are you sitting down?"

"Yes."

"Well, I think you're going to make an excellent Daddy."

"Yeah?"

He started crying right away too. Neither one of us could believe it.

We'd planned to go out to dinner last night no matter what the result was. When he came to my office to pick me up, we were both giddy. Over dinner, I couldn't help but think how glad I was we were celebrating something great and not drowning our sadness.

And just for fun, we stopped at CVS on the way home and bought a cheap home pregnancy test.

And while posting a photo is beyond my skillset right now, the two lines that popped up were strong and pink.

So here we go. Thank you to everyone online for sticking around for the ride so far.

Speaking of party, my "word verification" for this comment is "prraty". (that almost spells "party" right?) Concidence? I think not!

Shh Shh Shh I'm quietly shouting quiet hoorays! I clicked from your email to the blog and first got the insulin level entry so I was so confused. I'm like what is it! So I went one entry back and found the positive. Huge smile on my face. We're actually at an ice cream shop at the beach right now but I had to write you a congratulations. Let me know when you start celebrating loudly so I can yell until I'm hoarse!
